About Us

Our club is affiliated to the North East Ju-Jitsu Association (NEJJKA). NEJJKA is currently celebrating over 40 years of Ju-Jitsu across the North East and by attending one of their approved clubs, you are also ensuring that you get the best level of training through an organisation that has long developed its approach to deliver training through a tried and tested syllabus-based approach as you move up through the belts to black belt and beyond...

Our club is currently based at the Ray Gray Community Centre in Walkergate, classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday evening.  The coaching team are very experienced coaches who also teach Ju-Jitsu across other clubs within NEJJKA.
Our coaches are genuinely passionate about Ju-Jitsu and love to teach and pass on their knowledge to get students to be the best they can be, offering praise and encouragement in abundance!

The main coaches within Shogun Ju-Jitsu club are long standing black belts in Ju-Jitsu and have a combined knowledge of many years' experience between them.  Our Coaching team is also growing as we welcome Lisa, Josh and Michael to the team.

All NEJJKA coaches go through a vigorous coaching programme where they are monitored, corrected and given encouragement and feedback at every step of the way to ensure they are teaching to the highest standards.
